Hemorrhoids can be treated at every stage. Many people who suffer from them find relief by means of home treatment. In case they have not succeeded to alleviate the symptoms, they usually undergo nonsurgical treatments, the so called fixative procedures. These techniques are most successful in hemorrhoid units from the first and second stage. If the hemorrhoids have got severe – third and fourth stages, surgical treatment is recommended.

What are the fixative procedures?

Fixative procedures are alternative for surgery of the hemorrhoids. They include:

Light coagulation: This procedure stops the blood circulation to the hemorrhoid unit by causing the affected tissue to shrink and die.

Rubber band ligation: This method uses a rubber band to tie the base of the hemorrhoid unit and cut it off from the blood circulation and as a result it dies and falls of in about a week.

Cryotherapy: A device called Zeroid has recently been available as an alternative treatment of hemorrhoids. This uses cryotherapy as a home treatment procedure. The device is a plastic cylinder 15 mm in diameter and 6 sm long and contains a gel which could be frozen in the freezer or in the refrigerator. The device is introduced into the rectum. As it taws in the rectal canal, the temperature of the inside tissues gets lower. The action of thawing takes up from 5 to 10 minutes. The devise is inserted twice daily and the treatment continues for about 3 weeks. This method relieves the symptoms – eliminates discomfort and pain and stops bleeding episodes. In some cases a considerable shrinkage of the hemorroidal lumps can be observed.

Laser coagulation: Lasers used in medicine provide an alternative to the conservative treatment of hemorrhoids. Laser coagulation is a relatively easy and painless procedure which cuts off blood supply to the hemorroidal unit.

What are the natural cures for alternative treatment of hemorrhoids?

Natural remedies are easy to be applied at home and keep the hemorrhoids of becoming worse or of recurring after fixative procedures. These include:

Lidocaine: Applied on the affected area in the form of a jelly or a spray, it numbs the skins and alleviates the pain and irritation from hemorrhoids.

Topical analgetics: They offer a temporary pain relief and do not fight the whole range of the hemorrhoid symptoms.

Emu oil: Applied as an ointment on the affected area it strengthens the tissues, alleviates the pain and discomfort from external hemorrhoids.

Knowing more about the causes and treatments for hemorroids including surgery options can give you peace of mind and comfort.

A huge section of the population suffers from hemorrhoids and the condition can be anything from mild to severe. Since the disease comes with a bitter pain, when the condition is serious, it can become more than a bit desperate. Though there are many medications available to cure the symptoms, but it can take a long time to give relief and sometimes at the end there may be no cure at all. In such conditions when the pain becomes too much to tolerate, many prefer Hemorrhoids surgery. But Hemorrhoids surgery should always be the last resort because it comes with many complications. Hemorrhoids surgery should be opted for only when all medicines and even home remedies have failed.

At one time however surgery was the only option available because other medical treatments were not there. But those days are now a thing of the past with effective medicines available these days. However if they do not seem to work or the Hemorrhoids tend to come back, there is no other option really but to opt for surgery. But it should be the last resort.

So if surgery is what is needed, here are the various options…

Rubber Band Ligation: Simple and uncomplicated, this is therapy is meant for those who have in internal hemorrhoids. Using a small rubber band, blood flow to the hemorrhoid is severed causing the hemorrhoid to become dry. If the patient has more than one hemorrhoid, each one is taken up one after the other. Sometimes the surgeon also uses a medicine to reduce the size of the hemorrhoids.

Infrared Coagulations: Applied both for internal and external hemorrhoids, but only when the hemorrhoids are small. Painful but effective, laser is used to target the base of the hemorrhoids and burn it, and when it has been burned the blood flow naturally stops.

Removing The Clot: Another small surgery that is applied for those having external hemorrhoids. After numbing with an anesthetic, the blood clot in the affected area is just cut off. However the patient needs to be extra careful because since the clot is gone, the area will be sensitive.

Cryotherapy: This surgery involves freezing the hemorrhoid by removing the tissues. Liquid nitrogen is used to attain the desired results. Liquid nitrogen first burns the tissues and when they start to heal, the surface cells are removed. Cryosurgery is also much similar to Cryotherapy, but this is applied when the situation is graver and needs a deeper freezing.CLICK HERE for Hemroid Relief

Hemorrhoidectomy: Another hemorrhoids surgery option that uses laser technology. But doctors usually recommend this when the internal and external hemorrhoid is relatively bigger in size and the condition is serious. Hospitalization is necessary and the recovery time is also more. The patient also needs home rest after the hemorrhoid has been surgically removed using laser. It is advisable to avoid this as Hemorrhoidectomy can lead to complications.

Though there are many surgery options for hemorrhoids, once again, treatment using a medicine that uses natural products is always better. Seeking hemorrhoids surgery options should only be the last resort when everything has failed.

Hemroids – Self-Care or Surgery?

Hemroids are estimated to affect up to one-third of all Americans. Likelihood of developing the condition seems to increase with age, and males are more liable to suffer from Hemroids than females. Hemroids are most obvious when the patient strains while sitting on the toilet. This will cause large internal Hemroids to protrude from the anus making the diagnosis obvious. Hemroids are present in utero and persist through normal adult life.

Hemroids are more common than you think, afflicting both men and women, the young and the old. This painful condition is so painful that almost half the population have Hemroids by age 50. Hemroids are a very common condition and most people who suffer from them never need to do anything beyond home treatments or over the counter medications. If left untreated however, Hemroids may sometimes develop into a serious and dangerous condition that requires seeing a doctor and may need surgery for treatment.

Hemroids treatment options vary. The simplest method is medicated pads that can be purchased at your local store. These pads usually contain witch hazel and relieve the inflammation. Another effective treatment is Venapro which is a natural treatment that has shown to have positive results in many patients.

Herbs can be used to shrink and strengthen the blood vessels around the anus, providing relief from the pain and bleeding of hemroids. Witch hazel, as mentioned, a native American plant, acts as an astringent when applied to the hemroids. Herbs such as Aloe ferox act as a natural stool softener and are a gentle remedy for constipation, which is what causes hemroids quite often. Aloe is also widely recommended for inflammatory digestive disorders.

Internal and/or external hemroids may be treated surgically, usually on an outpatient basis. A hemorrhoidectomy is the surgical removal of swollen veins. Internal hemroids are the same thing, just inside of the rectum. Internal hemroids are seldom painful and may be present without you even knowing it, although bleeding during movement is not unusual. External hemroids form when blood pools beneath the skin and result in a hard lump that protrudes from the anus.

Internal hemroids are pretty harmless. However since their bleeding could mask blood from a hazardous source like colorectal cancer, they should be treated. Internal hemroids can sometimes prolapse during a bowel movement and then go back again.

Chronically painful or bleeding hemroids may need treatments with banding or surgery. Consult your physician with questions or problems. Fortunately, though, self-care measures such as Venapro and other lifestyle and diet changes often effectively treat or prevent this problem.
