Hemorrhoids can be treated at every stage. Many people who suffer from them find relief by means of home treatment. In case they have not succeeded to alleviate the symptoms, they usually undergo nonsurgical treatments, the so called fixative procedures. These techniques are most successful in hemorrhoid units from the first and second stage. If the hemorrhoids have got severe – third and fourth stages, surgical treatment is recommended.

What are the fixative procedures?

Fixative procedures are alternative for surgery of the hemorrhoids. They include:

Light coagulation: This procedure stops the blood circulation to the hemorrhoid unit by causing the affected tissue to shrink and die.

Rubber band ligation: This method uses a rubber band to tie the base of the hemorrhoid unit and cut it off from the blood circulation and as a result it dies and falls of in about a week.

Cryotherapy: A device called Zeroid has recently been available as an alternative treatment of hemorrhoids. This uses cryotherapy as a home treatment procedure. The device is a plastic cylinder 15 mm in diameter and 6 sm long and contains a gel which could be frozen in the freezer or in the refrigerator. The device is introduced into the rectum. As it taws in the rectal canal, the temperature of the inside tissues gets lower. The action of thawing takes up from 5 to 10 minutes. The devise is inserted twice daily and the treatment continues for about 3 weeks. This method relieves the symptoms – eliminates discomfort and pain and stops bleeding episodes. In some cases a considerable shrinkage of the hemorroidal lumps can be observed.

Laser coagulation: Lasers used in medicine provide an alternative to the conservative treatment of hemorrhoids. Laser coagulation is a relatively easy and painless procedure which cuts off blood supply to the hemorroidal unit.

What are the natural cures for alternative treatment of hemorrhoids?

Natural remedies are easy to be applied at home and keep the hemorrhoids of becoming worse or of recurring after fixative procedures. These include:

Lidocaine: Applied on the affected area in the form of a jelly or a spray, it numbs the skins and alleviates the pain and irritation from hemorrhoids.

Topical analgetics: They offer a temporary pain relief and do not fight the whole range of the hemorrhoid symptoms.

There are two types of – external and internal hemroids. Thrombosed hemroids is basically a complication of the external kind and it happens when there is a blood clot on the inside of the anus – it is also referred to as a thrombus. The clots happen just inside the skin in the veins that are in the rectum. Normally the symptoms of the disease include pain, and blood, but with thrombosed hemroids, the pain becomes extremely severe, so much so that many doctors and patients prefer to surgically remove them rather than seeking a medication to cure thrombosed hemroids in time.

Another typical feature of thrombosed hemroids is its color – these hemroids look blue and that is accounted to the vein strangulation that happens below the skin. But it can also turn into red, and this happens when the hemroids become irritated and thus inflamed. Size of the blood clot of thrombosed hemroids can vary from one person to another and usually when the size is bigger, the pain also will be more intense, particularly while passing stool, and even when sitting and walking.

External hemroids are visible to the naked eye, and thrombosed hemroids are also no exception. Though it might be difficult to identify for the untrained eye of the patient, but a doctor can do it easily, and also by physically examining the location of the pain. This is referred to as a rectal exam. It usually starts as a small bulge in the anus region that is hard to the touch. But it can also be soft and not hard at all. The veins are skin covered and look blue. And when the area swells it looks red in color. But all this might be difficult for the sufferer – to him usually it is the pain that is the first symptom of hemroids. Though hemroid treatment is available, many prefer surgery to get relief from the pain. There are many surgery options to select from, and the decision is mainly taken by the doctor. Injection Therapy: Also known as sclerotheray, this surgery involves injecting a hardening agent that dries up the thrombosed hemroids or hemorrhoid. And since the agent is injected, it is referred to as injection therapy. Clot Removal: This is a relatively simpler surgery that is carried out on external hemroids and it does not even take long to carry this out. No hospitalization is also needed. Application of an anesthetic would take away the feeling from the patient and then the doctor will just cut the thrombosed hemroids away to give relief.

Infrared Surgery: Here infrared light is applied to get the desired results. The hemroids is burnt off as a result. However infrared surgery is only possible when the thrombosed hemroids is relatively smaller in size. Though surgery is always an option, but it is not the only one as sometimes it can lead to complications, and that is why there are many who want to avoid it. More so since a few great natural products for thrombosed hemroids have now become available.

How To Treat External Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are varicose veins and swollen tissues in the rectum and anus. They may cause itching, burning and can bleed. Hemorrhoids can be treated easily and in some cases, prevented altogether. Hemorrhoids get worse over the years, so at the first sign of a problem, you should seek medical advice.

Hemorrhoids are usually caused by big pressure forced upon the rectum or anus often from (but not limited to) constipation, heavy lifting, and remaining seated for very long periods of time. These things can all put stress on the rectal/anal area and cause veins to bulge. Hemorrhoids can be internal, external or both. Asymptomatic hemorrhoids are considered normal in adults and children.

If you are looking for effective and powerful external hemorrhoid treatments then you are like the many others who have chosen to be proactive about finding a solution that is right for them. Having hemorrhoids is a serious medical problem and it should be treated as such. If you don’t have the proper information and awareness on your specific condition and the severity of it then you may be at risk for choosing products that might not work for you and as a result wasting your time and money.

External hemorrhoid occurs outside the anal verge and is caused when bursting of veins take place resulting in itching, swelling and sometimes resulting in bleeding. It is of more painful nature of the two. External hemorrhoids are prone to Thrombosis, if the vein ruptures and a blood clot develops, the hemorrhoid becomes a thrombosed hemorrhoid.

External hemorrhoids treatment is something millions of middle-aged individuals have to deal with, and fortunately there are many options to choose from. However, the information and choices around these treatments can be overwhelming, and sometimes hard to understand.
It may seem daunting at first, as there are a variety of ways to approach them, both natural and conventional. Finding the best treatment for hemorrhoids is accomplished by the patients educating themselves on the various options, and making a decision about what works for them.

Sitz baths with lukewarm water several times daily for about 10-15 minutes. After the bath tub sitting, the affected area should be dried gently with a clean towel in order to remove wetness from the area. When the affected area is left wet, this would cause an adverse effect – the hemorrhoids would get enlarged and more painful.

If one wishes to treat external hemorrhoids alternatively, witch hazel may be the first thing you want to try. Witch hazel can be most effective when applied after the affected area is soaked in a warm bath or treated with a cool compress. You may want to try these treatments on their own as well, if you suspect your hemorrhoids are in the early stages. But these cool compresses and warm baths also work well with other treatments you may try, be they conventional or alternative.
